@Banana07: you could be right, I applied in June 2014. I was suppose to have gotten it last year, but because they keep asking my solicitor for More documents. Until last wek they said they have forwarded my file to the minister, that they don't need more documents from me. Hope for the best.

Thank you banana07 and all other members. We all continue to follow this forum and update each other on progress. There is not much we can do but wait. I'm really thankful that we can update each other and get help if needed. I expect approvals after the next ceremony. I'm guessing the department will be too busy preparing fir the ceremony anyway.

Have a great week everyone!

Hi,

I am applying for my Irish citizenship and just double checking everything.

I have a question in regards of residence:

I have been in the country consecutively for the past five years, however, I have traveled a lot either for overseas business trips or on short weekend getaways with my wife.
I am afraid that with the accumulation of these small trips, I might have slightly exceeded the 6 weeks (42 days) they specify from 2014 onwards (for a few days).

I have all of my P21s from every year which prove that I have been working and residing here, being absent from the country for no more than 2 weeks at a time.

Any thoughts on what's best to do here?

Thanks.

would be perfectly fine.. just mention they were for biz travels.. the whole section was added for people who spend half of the year outside ireland (to be tax registered, you need to stay only 185 days in ireland!) and then suddenly become irish citizens! - they just wanted to close loopholes especially for spouses of people working here and come to visit them for short period while they are registered in ireland and come to renew status and then leave

Thanks a mil banana07!

I was advised to attach my P21s just so they know that I have been in full time employment/paying taxes for that period.

I can breathe and send it off now.

you already have to do so and playslip and bank statements.. a letter from your employer mentioning your frequency of travel for work related instead of you mentioning to them about your travels will work wonders!

enjoy and update the forum on your timeline tracker when you submit your application

& banana07: I don't get your message, are they saying you should 're-apply? Or what do you mean that they are blabling?

Pals: from previous experience I think the department usually send out refusal letter out before sending out approvals the following week.... I think... What do you think guys???
