CORK CITIZENSHIP CEREMONY IN NOVEMBER 2014

The next citizenship ceremonies will take place in University College Cork on Monday, 24 November, 2014.

Some 800 candidates will attend the ceremonies where they will take an oath of fidelity to the nation, receive their certificate of naturalisation and thereby become Irish citizens.

If u guys go back to one of my previous post,I said I had a cordial discussion with one of the immigration official at the last ceremony and she said applications aren't as much as b4 since clearing all the back logs and they may be shortening ceremony or wait some months to have enough approvals as b4 and that the next ceremony would be towards the end of November. The Cork ceremony would be for those living within the area and sub-urbs. The next dublin ceremony would definitely be in January. I know how hard it is to wait for the the ceremony,in time to get hold of that shining european gateway passport,but guys,one shall get there sooner or later. I'm currently on holiday in Milan,it felt so good flying on the EU passport,the wait and pain would surely worth it in the end.

@Janet0001
Thanks for your comments... Yes I remember you were mentioninig about this earlier,,,, You could be right that ceremonies might be distributed based on the amount of applicants per county or nearest areas..... this makes sense to me to some extent.... Best of luck to all who are waiting....

The same happened in March 2014 and it was in Waterford "Locally" but the following ceremony was a proper ceremony.

so in order to hold a ceremony in late Jan 2015 inis will have to send all approvals by mid to second last week of january as nothing will happen in last two weeks of december 2014.

is it a fair assessment - also it means that one can't plan antthing for xmas time off.

I personally think you are right.. They should start sending around 20th Nov at the latest.. otherwise huge backlogs in postal services might delay if its early December.... Lets see whats in Santa`s bag for us that are waiting..... Best of luck to all waiting

guys, if it's going that way, that means big ceremony on Jan. and i can imagine they might send approvals while the next ceremony or even shortly after, within few days by the most. so take it easy and some more patient needed. We are nearly there. HOPEFULLY

@pyramid stone as what your friend said regarding November.. suprisengly, non of the forum users have mentioned the invitation at all, which means that the 800 (which is very very low number) are either non board members here, or no one actually got invited yet (very short period to submit documents, pay fees, get approval, attend!)

For you information there was Dublin Citizenship Ceremony in March 2014 (source is Inis website: http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/Ne ... d%20Events) and not Waterford.... I am kind of confused now why is it happening in Cork and not Dublin.... Is it a new move by minister fitzgerald.....

I contacted them today and was advised to contact again in a week or so as there would be more information on new approvals.
I believe there is a pile of approval letters waiting to be signed any day from now...
