No information from the INIS yet but most likely there'll be a big ceremony coming up in Dublin in November/December.

SECOND TIME VETTING
:)

Do anyone know how long its takes to check with the Gardai for vetting, especially when it's second time checking just make sure I have not come to the attention of the police since the last time . File on checkings since four weeks ago . When should I be expecting approval? Thanks.

Just email them and got this reply

Your application is currently at an advanced stage of processing. While it
is not possible to give an exact timeframe, this office will be in touch
with you as soon as a decision has been reached.

Have you any offence(s), penalty points or fines? With an Irish spouse and five years residency, your application shouldn't be taking this long in my opinion. But if you have no previous conviction, penalty points or fines, you should be getting your approval in the next batches of approvals rolling out soon before or after the coming citizenship ceremony next week Friday.

When an application has complexities, then no one can say or suggest for sure when you are to get approval. Just keep calm and hope for the best soon.

It means that an assessment of your financial status is being presently conducted and also enquiries are made with the Garda Síochána to verify information provided by you in your application and determine if you can be deemed to be of good character. Once these enquiries are completed, your file will be referred to the Minister for Justice and Equality for a decision (approval) if there's no complexity (offences/convictions, fines or penalty points).

In my opinion, I think there'll be consequences for your bad driving behavior. You're supposed to be of GOOD CHARACTER at all times while resident in the state. You will be asked officially to explain further in the course of the time why you behaved this way and should expect some delays in your application. :D

You're gainfully employed and productive to the system so I think that should in a way help your application and also push it faster but I pray someone overlooks your previous driving offence so you can be approved in the next 1-3 months time.

You will definitely get a second stage letter in due course like every other applicants. Second stage letter is to notify you that your application continues to be processed and have moved to Garda vetting to confirm that you've been of good character, and other departmental checks to confirm you gave accurate and genuine information on your application form. If the INIS require further information/documentation from you, they'll notify you as well but if not, your application will continue to be processed and forwarded to the minister for approval. The average time for processing an application is 6 months (barring no complex issues) but some have gotten approval within 2 months of applying while others have gotten at the 3rd, 4th or 5th months of applying depending on the basis of their applications. Note that some applications have taken longer than 6 months and could take up to a year or two or more just like myself. :D

First applied in November 2013 based on Association
Application refused in January 2015 (as a result of an erroneous assumption that I had previously overstayed a 90 day visit visa, thereby circumventing immigration control). No room for an appeal to prove the INIS wrong so had to reapply again.

Reapplied January 2015
First stage letter: February 05 2015
Second stage letter: April 22 2015
Approval stage: PENDING!!!!!!!!!!!!
