HI Zed,

I agree having Irish association should not effect your application , at least that's what they make us believe, however just few months ago i know a person who got approved even though he had drink driving conviction, which i believe is more severe of an offence than driving without insurance, although i dont know if that person had any irish association or not.

I am just trying to figure out different scenarios and trying to piece to gather the complex decision making puzzle of INIS.

To be honest the process is not really clear and we never know if the delay is due to garda report/agencies reports or process is laying on somebody desk ... I applied in setptember (irish spouse) no conviction or any problem and Im still waiting. My collegue sent application on the same basis after myself had few problems with some paper work and got approved last week. Unfortunatelly we just have to wait .... hope we will get good news soon :-)

Advanced process means that they got your agencies report back at least, so it should be a good thing.

Yeah it was announced on Inis site.

This unfortunately means for the rest of us that no more approvals to come until after 10/04/15 :(

Congrats to all who received their citizenship.

I applied for mine last week on 5 years basis, i have a question though a colleague apply today but he has a issue on his application though he fills(almost) all the form and provide the relevant documentation, he told me that he just provide one irish reference, his employer.

He was asking my advice about that but as i didn't want to mislead him on the wrong way i'd rather ask some advice here, did you have or meet someone with the same "issue"?.

10 April Next cermony

The next citizenship ceremonies will take place in The Convention Centre Dublin, Spencer Dock, North Wall Quay, Dublin 1 on Friday 10th April, 2015.
Candidates for Citizenship will attend the ceremonies where they will take an oath of fidelity to the nation, receive their certificate of naturalisation and thereby become Irish citizens. Invitations to attend the Ceremonies will issue shortly.

At this stage even if we get the approval this week ... we won't make for April's ceremony.... :-/
