KingdomMan wrote:@bluemoon2, the last response from the INIS to you stating your application is at final stage means your file came back from the desk of the minister and hopefully your approval letter is being prepared to be sent out to you in about a week or two or a little bit more.. But I can assure you, it's all very positive news for you so keep your hopes alive and get your passport photographs and €950 (if applicable) ready inorder to conclude your naturalisation process and receive the certificate at the March/April 2015 citizenship ceremony. Good luck mate! :)
@ KINGDOMMAN , thanks for your reply, but in last letter from inis they said my application is at advance stage , they didn,t say its at final stage.

Bluemoon.. the person on phone has a screen shows whats going on in your application (i.e working in progress, documents required, mail sent, approved and the person details for the inis employee dealing with your application) so I wonder how she knew its with minister? unless she personally asked your application employee, she would have given you a total guess to get rid of you!!!

May I join in? Just found this site and thank God I did!!! :D My hubby applied late August 2014 and was hoping he'll get the approval letter in time for January's Ceremony but unfortunately we are still waiting.Just a quick question....I need to apply for citizenship myself and this January are 5 years since I moved to Ireland.Do I wait for my hubby to get his citizenship (will it make any difference?) Or should I go ahead and apply and send them further papers after my hubby gets his citizenship?Thank you in advance and good luck to you all! :wink:

@happymamma2

I would say go ahead with your application. It would not make any difference. I applied being a spouse and still waiting for almost an year by now.

I got my approval letter today dated 14/01/2015 , rang them on last tuesday and was told my file has been sent to minister for decision and just after two days i got my letter today , i applied on 14th April 2014 on EU FAM STAMP 4 basis, but i am not going to send them photos , 950 euros and my GNIB card untill July 2015 as i am going to my home country in second week of March , few weddings there planned and i am going after 5 years so everything is finalised now , so i am just going to put my approval letter aside now and will start process again when i come back from holiday in June 2015.

I believe (personal experience) that processing time is much shorter if you apply as spouse of Irish citizen. If I'm at your place, I'll go ahead & apply & once husband get the citizenship, send them a letter with evidence that he has got the citizenship along with signed page from the application.

Hi.thank you for your reply.We are EU citizens with 2 Irish boys.He applied for naturalization on the basis that he had lived and worked here for the last 7 years.I myself have worked and lived for 5 years (I am now on unpaid maternity leave but never applied for social help).

His dates are as follow (from the top of my head as couldn't find the file with all the letters):

Application Date: aprox 16th August 2014
First letter: 29th of August 2014
Second letter:30th of September-required some clarification regarding a 1week gap in address list; Clarification sent 05th of September
Awaiting approval.....

Congrts, mate, looks like good sign to start sending approvals from these days and starting the delayed ones. Hopefully I get mine soon. Applied March 14 and still waiting for the minister decision since last July. Happy Days. ;)
