@ Viratkohli1

Thanks for your reply. You never know, maybe your application has already been submitted to the minister. If you wish you can knock your solicitor to send another email to the citizenship department to know the current status of your application.

I rang my solicitor shortly after receiving today's email. My solicitor advised that it may take up to 8 weeks to get the decision about my application from them. So, let's see.

@ J_Karim Bro,

Do you have any idea, how long it may take to get further correspondence from them about my application?

@ J_Karim Brother,

Thanks for your advise and thanks again for advising me last night to send them an email in order to know the status of my application. I wouldn't send them an email last night if you didn't insist as my plan was to send it on next Monday.

@ viratkohli1

I applied through a solicitor as well. For unknown reasons, my solicitor didn't receive any letter/email from naturalization department about my application.

I was always sending them email and they are replying me directly. I asked my solicitor few times (including today) to know if he receives any correspondence from them. He confirmed he didn't.

So, if you wish you can contact naturalization department, I don't see any harm for doing it. If you do any communication with them, please let your solicitor know that you are in touch with them, that's what I am doing at the moment.

Hi all, i have been following this forum for the past 6 months and it's a fantastic source of info, great job from everyone involved!

Could anyone who applied for citizenship using the new form (where you have to send original passport) let me know what's your waiting time to receive it back from them.

I'll be sending my application on Friday and wanted to book holidays for March 17 but unsure as to how long it might be till i get my passport back.

Thanks so much and best of luck to those waiting on approval.

I think you should be fine..

Check this out it mention in INIS website:
http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/ci ... ip-updates

Return of passports after applying for citizenship by naturalisation

Updated :5 October 2016
Please allow at least 4 weeks for your passport to be returned. If you think you'll need your passport soon after you make an application (eg for travel), you should postpone your application until you return.
If you ask for your passport back before your application has finished processing, the application will be put on hold. You must then return the passport to us for processing to be completed.

N:B Please share your time after you submitted your application

To J_karim and iCloud,
Bro Here is the reply i got.look like i m still in the same place where i was in November 30th.that's so annoying.
please note that your application for naturalisation is being prepared for
submission to the Minister. If further documentation and/or clarification
of any matter related to your application is required from you, we will
write to you requesting it. Otherwise, you will receive a letter in due
course informing you of the Minister’s decision on your application.

So in two month my file didn't move.I also contact my solicitor as she said they are taking longer time for eu family.she will be contact with them in around third week of January. My gnib expires 23rd January :( :(

To "viratkohli1"
I got the same replay on 23rd December from them..I got my second stage letter on 16th November..
Well i will mail them this Friday for an update..
If i were you id be concern for my current visa status..
Did you apply for further visa EU-3 or Self retention depends on ur circumstances..
They would delay on married to EU citizens cases if they think the applicant has no updated visa or didn't submitted any application for further extension..(its just my thoughts)
Hope it make sense!!!
Any one can give there suggestion but only experts can give advice

Since you applied for EU3 did you get any acknowledgment from the yet?
if so go with the acknowledgment along with wife and try to meet a supervisor if they argue with you..
Or u can go with job letter or letter from from work to GNIB and explain the situation that you are waiting on decision they will provide a temporary visa..
Hope it helps
