search on daft.ie
http://www.daft.ie/lettings/
You will find Dublin and other cities expensive.

If both these couple joined forces they could easily rent a 3 bed house in the sticks between them.

If there are non-eu men going with their eu wife, and there are children, then if they can find cheap air tickets, there is another way.

Enter Ireland with EU wife, and wife goes back home from next flight.

Man goes to the cheapoest hostel , and starts looking for a place for the family.

Once a place has been found, call the family to ireland.

Beware not to do something illegal though. If the legal basis for the non EU citizen to be in Ireland is that they are accompanying their EU citizen spouse exercising their initial 3 months right of free movement; as soon as the EU citizen is leaving Ireland their non EU spouse is not allowed to remain in Ireland either.
