Child benefit in ireland

hi,,,

I m British citizen and move to Ireland last week. Now my Non EU wife and 2 children are coming and join me next week.

Now my question is can I claim child benefit.....?

Or

I have to stay here for some time .....??? As some body told me that some rules are different for British and other EU country.

you can claim child benefit, no matter which country you are from, as far as the child is living in Ireland you are entitled to claim child benefit.

My question was that we all are enter in the country for less then a week.. So any time limits that we have to wait until apply for child benefit ....?? Or should I wait for my job etc
