EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

Post by webbym » Fri Jan 02, 2015 6:16 pm

Anyone got acknowledgement and letter to go get Stamp-4 in last couple of weeks ?
Any idea which dates are they processing currently ?

Getting worried now since no response at all.

Hi there,

I'm in the same boat as you. Posted the application with passports and relevant docs on the 25th of November. Haven't received so much as an acknowledgement. I know the website says there's a wait of 4 weeks before they send everything back, but it's very frustrating and more than a little worrying. For the life of me I can't understand why they can't just send an acknowledgement by email, after all they did ask for email addresses. Not only do we feel uneasy about having our passport taken away, we also need to do things like open bank accounts and my wife needs to get a job.

I posted them a letter this Tuesday asking them for a reason for the delay and to send our docs back as soon as possible. I encourage you to do the same. Hopefully we'll both hear something shortly.

Yes, very frustrating, we're also stuck without our passports and is simply delaying everything.

If there are many people waiting, I suspect they are simply not issuing acknowledgements to avoid people
queuing up before christmas time when their office is probably not operating at full capacity.

What response did you get from the email ? I will email them on Monday and let you know what they come
back with.

I am in the similar situation. I sent my mother's application with her and mine passports on 4th December. I was worrying too but after seeing your posts it sounds that they are having a backlog of applications. Unfortunately, the process would have been further delayed due to Christmas holidays.

Apparently, there are delays for many stamp-4 applications, don't know why. Found out about 2 other
people who have been waiting 3-4 weeks already.

I just noticed the below on their website, not sure if they are waiting for their new system to be live
before they will start processing applications
A major reform of the delivery of immigration services is underway including the transfer of registration functions from the Garda National Immigration Bureau to INIS. This presents opportunities to streamline both registration and visa re-entry services and INIS will be introducing an on-line services as part of this process. The introduction of on-line booking appointments will be prioritised with the aim of its introduction in the first quarter of 2015

Hi All,

This is a regular occurance and nothing to be alarmed about. Delays of 5-6 weeks are the case for past few years to
process the applications initially.

Leinsterimmig Out of 9 posts & most of them were simple immigration queries you demanded €59 for consultation service. Are you qualified Immigration Lawyer? Just matter of Interest.... You don't think so people who writing questions here have enough common sense to go to some Immigration Law firm? I think its easy enough to Google or getting contact details of Law firm even here... It will be so nice of you if you can give free advice here & not mentioning about your professionally services in every post...

Still nothing and no response to email from the department. Strangely everyone's waiting.

Guys,
Please don't hijack this thread - its for genuine applicants to share their timelines not to fight
or advertise stuff.

We sent ours in 3 December, so I am curious to see when those before us get their letters.

No response to email which is very frustrating.

However, I found out about someone who applied on 30-Oct and got Stamp-4 on 20-Dec, so effectively, took them 52 days or 8 weeks, so I'm applying that calculation to my expected date and will update once I hear something.

Nothing here either. No response to the letter I wrote two weeks ago.

You've been waiting 8 weeks surely you should get a response any day now

I expected that it would take around 6 weeks anyway, plus an extra week or two because of the holidays. It seems like expectations should be set at around 8 weeks, plus a week or two for the holidays.

Actually don't mind about application taking time. Its the absence of the passports and lack of any response that bothers me.

Talked to someone who suggested the only way to get any response is to go to inis headquarters in person

So seems like everyone's waiting.

If I was to visit in person to check status of our application, do I just queue up with everyone else from 6:30am ? Or
can I go during the day ?

Well, well, well, it looks that everybody is on the same boat, no?

I have applied on 27th of November and they got my documents on the next day. I needed my passport to travel so they sent it back on the 10th of December and the only letter I got was that they were returning the documents and with my INIS number. So, if we bear in mind that from 24th Dec., till 4th January they were closed, it means that almost two weeks they did not work, so it is taking 5 weeks now.

I have sent many e-mails but it seems that they give an automatic response. The last e-mail I sent was 5 days ago and this was the reply:
"Dear Bruno Cavalcanti,

Your application was received in this office on 28/11/2014.

Applications are processed in chronological order. Due to the volume of
applications on hand, it may take a further 3-5 weeks from the date of
receipt before a response is issued from this office. Once your documents
have been processed, they will be returned to you and any outstanding
documents will be requested.

Best regards,

Magdalen M. Keady
EU Treaty Rights Unit
Residence Division
Irish Naturalisation & Immigration Service
13-14 Burgh Quay
Dublin 2"

To be honest I have no hope that they will send it this week. It is going to take more than 5 weeks, which is very frustrating because I need to find a job and it is quite annoying every time you travel going through immigration (in Ireland) and they keep asking the same things, like: Why you don't have a GNIB card, who's your partner, for how long have you been here and etc. :(
