How long it takes to get Irish visa?

Post by masterboy123 » Tue Aug 06, 2013 10:40 pm

How long does it takes to get visa, for a spouse of EU citizen?
I want to apply for a Long term D visa at Irish embassy (Hungary).

any idea how long can it take? So that I can book the flights which are cheaper at the moment. Or is it too risky to book flight before getting visa?

Thanks

It is supposed to take less than a month, but many people have to wait 2 or 3 months.

I would suggest not to book your flight before you get the visa. .

Thanks for the answer.

Did it take the extra time (2-3 months) even when both the wife and husband were already present in EU?

Unfortunately, there has been people in this case yes. It seems like it very much depends on the embassy staff.

Hi.
My advise is that, don't even think to book any tickets in advance, because you will be on a high risk to lose the money. I have been waiting for my visa decision more that 3.5 month and no reply yet.

My husband got his decision in 3 weeks it would be quicker but they were very picky and 3 times requested for additional docs. He applied in Irish Embassy in Cyprus

Do I select Join Spouse (EEA national) on the online application form.

The embassy of Ireland (Budapest) has asked me to fill the Online visa form as the paper form is not working here anymore.

I am travelling with my wife (Hungarian citizen).

Also, shall I choose Multiple or Single entry Long Term visa?

I am sure that is the one my husband applied for, as soon as he will be in Ireland we will apply with EU1 Form, anyway his visa was issued for 90 days with description Join spouse B/O

Ok great. are you Irish citizen? and your currently living in Ireland? or travelling together with your husband?

I hope I can get the visa in 3-4 weeks too like in your case.

Any idea hows the situation when the EU national is travelling with non-EU spouse to Ireland?

Is the immigration officer going to take an interview when arriving at Ireland?
