Irish Citizen looking to come home with US wife

Post by Natonstan » Fri Sep 30, 2016 11:09 pm

Hello, I am a US Citizen, I've been in the US for 4 years and I'm looking to move home but I now have a US Spouse that I've been married to for almost 3 years now, from what I've read it will be a case of coming through Customs and informing the officer of our intentions, and then registering at the local Gardaí station (I believe I need our passports, marriage cert) and then she should receive Stamp4? Is that correct? I've been hearing conflicting information regarding this, some people say the Gardaí generally are lenient when it comes to US/Canadian Citizens, and other people say sometimes they'll make you send off a whole package to GNIB in Dublin. Has anyone done a similar move recently and maybe they can help?
