irish national marrying a non eea national

Post by smakeane » Sat Feb 28, 2015 5:19 pm

Hi all,
I am an Irish national planning to marry my non EEAfiance . I am in Ireland and he is on a student visa in England. We are trying to find the best way to go about getting married and getting him a visa to live and work in Ireland. We were hoping that he could come in on a shortstay visa but have since read on inis website that he can't extend his stay or change his status on that visa, he would have to leave Ireland again and apply for a spousal visa from abroad.
Does anyone have any advice on how he could come to Ireland, get married and get a stamp 4 visa then so he can live and work?
Any advice would be much appreciated. :-)
