NON-EEA IRISH VISA

Post by appiah » Tue Jul 29, 2014 1:08 am

I am non-eea spouse of a british national. we want to relocate to ireland on the directive of EU-free movement. i have a minor criminal conviction in the uk for 8months and left the uk on administrative removal. is this going to affect me at the Irish embassy if i apply based on the Directive 2004/38/EC to join my uk national wife on a tourist visa to ireland. I am applying for the visa at the irish embassy in nigeria.

Criminal offenses are taken very seriously when DOJ / Irish Embassy is dealing with your visa application. Also because Ireland and UK are sharing boarders, they do exchange immigration and criminal related data with each other. So i would be very surprised if you get a visa. However you can apply and best of luck.

A minor criminal offence should be insignificant when applying under EEA rules.
