Process of inviting my parents for a short stay visa

Post by Peace2804 » Mon Feb 01, 2016 9:38 am

Hi all,

I would like to invite my parents over and as such I intend to start the short stay via application process soon.
My parents aren't dependent on me so they will provide their own documents, in addition I intend to add my own documents such as invitation letter, letter of employment, bank accounts statements and so on.
There is no Irish embassy in my home country, there is an Irish consulate. My question is, should I send my own documents to my parents and then they will bring everything over with them or can I send my own document to the Consulate in my own country and add the reference number of my parents application? it would be easier for me to send everything to the consulate directly so that I won't confuse my parents with my own documents.

Thanks

Hello,

The process for applying a visa for Visit family/friend category is as following.

Documents from Yourside:

1) Visitor's visa invitation letter and Statutory declaration certified by a solicitor (enclosed your mom & dad's name together) and make 2 copies of each so you can attach them in each application bundle.
2) Bills
3) Payslips & Employment Letter.
4) Passport copied if Naturalized Irish (certified by a solicitor)
5) Birth certification (certified by a solicitor)
6) Bank statements (last 6 months)

Documents from Parent's side:

1) Application Letter + undertaking (Mom & Dad separate copies)
2) Undertaking (Mom & Dad separate copies)
3) Attach supporting documents like (Copy of Property deeds owned by my your parents, copy of utility bills of the property) etc.
4) Bank statements of both.
5) Travel Insurance of each (a must)
6) Once the set is completed (please make 3 photocopies of each set)

Where to submit the application:

- I think Irish consulates does not accepts the visa applications any more so all the applications will need to be submitted at there dedicated Visa application centers the list as below.
http://www.vfsglobalirelandvisa.com/

- Once you are submitting the application on the below site, in the end it will take you to the VFS site to book an appointment, simply use your CC to pay for the application & VFS appointment charges.
- Ask your parents to turn up that day with all the above documents.

I hope the above information helps.

All the best.

Thank you Hamza for your detailed post, the following website http://www.vfsglobalirelandvisa.com/ doesn't contain my home country, is there any other link by any chance?
Is a travel insurance a must prior to applying and being accepted or should it be done only once the application is accepted?

thanks in advance.

Try this link:

https://www.dfa.ie/embassies/irish-embassies-abroad/

- Yes getting a travel insurance is a pre-requisite at the time of applying for a tourist visa and it's not based on once the visa is approved to get it then.

I hope it answers your question.

Thanks
Hamza
