Question regarding first passport application through parent

Post by Natonstan » Wed Sep 10, 2014 2:17 am

Hey guys, I have a problem, firstly I live in the US as of last year but I hold a UK passport/citizenship. My father was born and lives in Ireland, as does my grandmother on my mothers side. I am not in contact with my father but I'm looking to apply for an Irish passport for the first time, Now obviously I'm already a citizen as I have an Irish parent so I don't need to apply on the register, BUT it would be hard for me to get a copy of his birth cert. Of course on my own birth cert he is listed and his birthplace is Irish Republic, can anyone help me or give me advice on how to go about applying?
