Residing in Ireland.

Post by Ololade1 » Sat Jan 30, 2016 2:11 pm

Hello everyone, I have a question can an individual legally resident in Ireland with the intention of exercising treaty rights, but is employed in the UK.
I and my husband currently live in Ireland we have a house pps numbers etc.
But I intend to keep my job in the UK by informing the revenue office here.

Exercising your treaty rights in the EU member state mean you have to be employed or self employed in Ireland, I don't think the department would accept if you say you are employed in UK.
Stay blessed

@andras, to avoid confusion & jumbled responses, I have moved your question to its own thread:

This EU information will help you get up to speed on free movement:

If you are in Ireland on a Surinder Singh route and with future plans to return to UK then you will need to be aware of the somewhat controversial UK centre of life test.

What you are proposing is likely to fail such a UK test (regardless of how Irish authorities look at it).

Thanks noajthan

Thanks for the information, just to confirm with strong centre of life move to Ireland and with work requirement to be in Ireland office, will this fascilitate the move back to uk ? Thanks

My understanding is that that kind of approach will help improve your chances.

:!: Be aware, the goalposts are likely to be moving again soon, see:
