should my wife get a new passport b4 we apply 4 a visa?

I just got married yesterday to my indonesian wife, my question is should she apply for a new passport in her country, she only has 4 yrs left on it but in indonesia they only give 5 yrs max but i am concernef about 3 things with her current passport,

1. Has her maiden name still not my name as we just married

2. 4 years left.....will that be a problem for the 5yrs residence eu card?

3. She was denied uk vistor visa 3 months ago but only stamped uk bangkok in there nothing else
