surinda singh route ireland

Post by knsda » Thu Jan 12, 2017 10:46 am

I have tried and failed to bring my Venezuelan wife to the UK, I am now planning to use the surinda singh route through Ireland.
I am british national.

I need to find out more, so any help would be appreciated,
would my work qualifications be acceptable in Ireland ?
would I have to be in Ireland 1st, before my wife for her to enter ?

regards

Be aware that the UK government has tightened the regulation on the Surinder Singh route and expressly states that it does not apply if it is used to get around the UK Immigration Rules. So, if the wife's immigration applications have been rejected twice, the SS route may not do much good either.

we applied for visitors visa, then I engaged solicitor who advised and guided us through process again, for visitor visa. refused both times that she had not satisfied her employment/earnings, and unsure as to whether she would return home.
she speaks little English.
we cannot live in England, and Venezuela is unsuitable for me, Ireland will allow us to be together, work, and eventually move back to UK ?

With a history of refusals for UK you may wish to study this new guidance as it relates to SS:

Worst case you can probably have a good life in Eire even if you can't make it back to UK.
You will need to wait and see what provisions are made for non-EEA nationals once UK leaves EU.
You (as British) should be unaffected unless CTA is changed.
