Working in Ireland before Temporary Stamp 4?

Post by Sugarheart » Thu Nov 03, 2016 1:18 pm

Hello! My husband who's a British citizen and myself, Canadian, are moving to Ireland in mid January. I'm just trying to sort out a to do list because I know there's quite a bit involved in the moving process. Am I able to work right after I've sorted out a PPS number or do I have to wait until I've sent out the application for the Residence Card?

Sorry, I just realised I confused the residence card and the temp stamp for the same thing. So does the Temporary Stamp 4 get issued the day you arrive to the immigration office and then you can work? I'm so confused.

If your spouse is exercising eu treaty rights (work or study or residing with sufficient sources + CSI) then u can start to work right away, though u have extremely slim chances that an employer will believe u have the right to work without the resident card, let alone the explanation if the workplace gets a check, and immigration is called, it is a huge hassle for the employer,so unless they know u very well or they need u that bad u wont find a job legally without the proof that u can work.

Okay thank you! So after I go to the GNIB and receive my stamp 4, how long after do I apply for the registration card?
