Do we have to submit the application again ? (After adding the name in my Spouse's passport)
My daughter's passport has both our names.
Why does the Documents Printing Status still show Under-Process.

Appreciate any inputs on the same.

Hi

My husband and mother in law both applied for OCI on 18 May 2016. My husband applied on basis of my father in laws OCI and my mother in law applied on the spouse basis (my father in law).

My husband OCI was received in London on the 14 June 2016. My mother in laws is showing as :

Date Of Acknowledgment 18-MAY-2016
Registration Status at Mission LONDON
Documents Printing Status UNDER-PROCESS

I don't understand how it can take so long based on spouse application.

I have contacted VFS who wrote back with the following:

Please be advised that we would be unable to comment on the time required to process your OCI application, as the processing time remains solely at the discretion of the High Commission of India and its Consulates.
Our tracking system indicates that your application was forwarded to the Indian High Commission / Consulate General of India on 17/05/2016 and is currently under process.

You can track the status of your application online from this link: https://passport.gov.in/oci/statusEnqury.

Is there any other way of chasing this - if they require further information why can't they just ask for it !

Still no change in status, "UNDER PROCESS", darn it! You are so lucky JSH yours got to change quite quick! I think its also delaying most applications because most people who have PIO cards have to convert to OCI by end of this year as I have heard, which has put more workload onto OCI applications queue.

I still have another OCI application to do and I can't do it until this first one arrives back. I have even given all documents required, hoping the application would get processed quickly. If only they put down a percentage on the status of how far the process is gone through.

Still no change in status, and now its almost end of this working week.
What time of day did you check? Did you recieve any emails or text messages to be notified as well?

I am keen to have this one processed asap, as I have another to do, and they its going, the second may lead up to Christmas, for the speed each application is getting processed!

We are due to go out in Feb next year, and next year I also have to apply for normal visas for my kids, which again I hope they shouldn't take too long.

Now its 13 Sept, 7 weeks tomorrow since I applied for the OCI card, and still same status "Under-Process".
If there is any problem, why don' they simply communicate? It's so irritating having no progress updates and waiting! Especially when they are paid for something not given yet.

Hey guys, FINALLY after anxiously waiting weeks and weeks for a status update, today my status has changed to PROCESSED. They did quote 6-8 weeks, so JUST under 8 weeks it has got processed!

Now have to wait till it arrives back in London.

We have applied for oci and received acknowledgement on 02 August 16. Its still shows under process. Any one around this time received there card or any progress? And how long does it take to get oci and passport back once submitted. Have plans to travel on 29th September
A) should I apply for tourists visa?
B) what happens to oci application, if I am not in country for few months.

I sent my daughter's old Indian passport(proof of both our names in her passport) and looks like they are now OK with it -

We're travelling on 3-Oct, so I had to apply for a 1 year visa, expecting that OCI will be delayed.
I think it would be risky to submit the Passport as we just have over a week for travel.

What options do i have now to collect OCI card -
- Can we collect the OCI directly from Birmingham ?
- Or should we wait for our travel back from India ?

Why do they insist on British passport original in the 2nd stage ?
I don't think they stamp the passport, so why aren't photocopies sufficient ?

Its 42 days since date of acknowledgement but no update. Independence day, rakshabandhan, Janmashtami, Ganesh chaturthi are all playing part in the delay. When I emailed them to followup, I was asked to provide more details i.e. full name, full address, date of birth etc even though I had provided them with passport number and acknowledgement number. I am not comfortable giving all the personal details by email.

If anyone who submitted application at the beginning of August have their application status as processed please do update us.
