Family Visitor Visa Documents query

Post by kmunir » Wed Apr 16, 2014 3:48 pm

Hi,

I want to invite my mother in law to visit us here in the UK. I wanted to ask how should I send them my documents? Do I have to send my original bank statements/payslips etc to her or scanned copies of all these documents would suffice?

Thanks
Regards,
KM

Send originals as far as possible. Send certified copies of documents you don't want to part with (such as a passport).

I recently applied for my mum in Pakistan.
I sent all the docs in PDF format via email - even the invitation/declaration letter and the letter from landlord.
I had no issues with it - visa granted within 2 weeks.

Hi,

Thanks for confirming, thats what I had thought as well but got confused after looking at the guidance notes where it is quite clearly stated that all documents should be original along with copies so I was not sure. Can you confirm when did you apply?

Hi,

can you confirm if you get the originals back if you attach originals with application along with their copies?

We submitted the application on 25th March at Gerrys office.
And my family was told not to submit any originals as HO won't return them back.
So my family submitted all attested photo copied docs apart from the passport and photos and obviously bank statement original.
Got the call from Gerrys on 9th or 10th April - collected on 11th April.

Hello Guys,

I am inviting my parents to UK for a holiday.
My father is an Indian citizen. Since he was born before partition. In his passport his place of birth is mentioned as XYZ city undivided India
my question here is that what should i mention as his place and country of birth in the visa application form.

I will really appreciate any advise on this matter.

Any other suggestion which will make the application anyhow stronger are also welcome :)

Regards
CM

Hi there
Please can you let me know what email id did you use to send the documents instead of sending in originals?

Thanks
