I am worried, please advise

Post by Tire1Questions » Tue Apr 22, 2014 7:25 pm

Hell all,
I am on Tire1 (G) visa and my am due to apply for ILR in August this year.
Last month, I was sick and went to see my GP who prescribed me some medication. But, when I went ASDA pharmacy to take my medicines, they did not charge me. (and I also forget to pay or inform them). I forget all about it and I just realized that I have not paid for it.
How can I rectify it? if I go back to ASDA and tell them that I want to pay for it. Would they be able to give me a receipt of payment? How NHS records would be updated?
I hope its not counted as benefit on public fund thing.
Your advise is highly appreciated.

It's an issue between you, ASDA and your Conscience. Not the NHS.

I'm sure nothing will come of it but if it were me I'd need to have my conscience clear irrespective of ILR issues etc so I'd go back and tell them for that reason alone and get it resolved.

I have always been paying for prescription but forget that particular day (obviously due to illness as I was put on steroids). I am going to ASDA and have it cleared though. If I do not pay for it, somebody will be paying for it ( and it must be NHS).
Would be very stupid of me if I have my visa refused for this silly thing....

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 2_0EXT.pdf

See the link above, it clearly states that "The Department for Health has its own rules on whether people who are not ordinarily
resident in the UK can receive free NHS treatment. NHS treatment does not count as public funds for the purposes of the Immigration Rules whether it is paid or unpaid"
