Hi All,
I am currently on FLR(M) dependent visa and am planning to invite my parents and my sister to the UK for about 20 days. Purpose of travel is spending a few days with me and my family in the UK and leisure/tourism.
UKBA website recommends the General Visitor visa for family members if the sponsor is not permanently settled in the UK. Since I do not have an ILR, I think this is the appropriate visa to apply for. However, VAF1A states:
If you are visiting the UK as a tourist or to visit friends you should complete this form.
If the main reason you are applying to come to the UK is as: a tourist or to visit friends you must complete VAF1A; a family visitor you must complete VAF1B......
My confusion is: which visa should they apply for? General Visitor or Family Visitor? UKBA guidance and VAF1A seem inconsistent to me.
Any thoughts?
