SET (O) ILR Strange Question for Appointment

Post by ssw3 » Thu Jul 24, 2014 8:55 am

Hi all,

I'm booking my appointment for ILR using SET(O) today. Whilst filling in the questions online for booking the appointment there was a strange question/strangely worded question. Could you please let me know what you've done and if this has been successful in the past?

The following question is fine and as I expected:
- Q: Which application form are you using to make
your application?
- A: SET(O)

This question I think is strangely worded:
- Q: Which category of leave are you applying for?
[I understand this form is only for ILR, so the answer should be ILR. However, I think they intend to ask which category are you applying from, as there is a difference in cost for different categories and some are not allowed to make same day applications. The options are Tier 1, Tier 2 or "other main applicant"]
- A: Tier 2, as this is the current leave category I have been granted.

Is this correct? Any success stories will be much appreciated.

Mate, I had the same question yesterday.

Hope it should be ok as long as you had paid the right fees, it seems.

Thanks for the reply. I will go for "Tier 2" as this is my current category, instead of "other main".
