Hi,

Sorry I cant answer the question unfortunately, as my husband is in same situation. He was away for a year and now we dont know what to do as tier 1 general extension is getting closed by april 2015(His visa expires in Nov 2015) And ILR ask not to leave country more than 180 days.

Please do share what you planning to do .

Dear Mohsina
thanks for reply , i have spent some time on this board i found that extension will be given and once time complete the ILR will be given but your point is valid about 2015 closing so we have to do more research

I assume both of you have completed the 1st extension and will have completed atleast 2 years continuous stay by April 2015. If this is the case then, you can just apply for an extension prior to April 2015, which will give you an additional 3 years.

This will then allow you to apply for your ILR in April 2018. (Provided you satisfy the 180 day rule by then ie., April 2018)
