How to calculate continuous 5 years period?

Post by mrinmoygupta » Tue Aug 26, 2014 12:47 pm

Hello Members

I've been living in the UK since Oct, 2009 and preparing an ILR application. Please help me with the below queries

1. I've been absent from UK for around total 25 days. Do I need to exclude these 25days for calculating 5 years continuous residence? What I mean is do I need to live for another 25 days to make up for this absence?
2. Can I apply 28 days before I actually complete 5 years?
3. Can all the supporting letters be addressed to "TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN"?

Many thanks for helping me out.

Regards

MG

1.You can count your absence 25 days also. (because not exceed 180 days in the 12 month period)
2.It should be at least 4 years, 11 months and 2 days
3.No problem at all - If the supporting letters contain "TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN". But it should have stamp & signature.

All the very best.

I need another clarification on the letter to be provided by the employer

1. I've worked with two different employers so far. Do I need a letter from only my current employer confirming my start date, annual salary, SOC code and confirmation of rate as per SOC, I'm required for foreseeable future?
2. Can the same letter cover the absences as well?
3. Does the employer need to provide a record of all the annual leave records? Or does it need to provide annual leave record only for the periods I was outside UK?

Thanks for helping me out.

I am not sure about SOC code details but,
1.If you show your earnings through current employer only, the current employer letter is good enough.
2.You need to provide separate absence letter
3.Out of UK only.
