Extension given for 2 years only

Post by freemind76 » Sat Sep 13, 2014 6:35 pm

Hi,

I went for my second Tier 1 extension at Glasgow PEO center. It got it approved. However, it is extended for another 2 years only while my another friend (whose case is 100% same as mine - same time we got first tier 1, same time we got first tier 1 extension). My friend got for 3 years while I got for 2 years.

First Tier 1-> Oct 2009
First Ext: -> Sep 2012 till Oct 2014
Now 2nd Ext: Sep 2014 till Sep 2016.

Although, it does not make any difference as I may be going for ILR in next 6 months but just wanted to seek opinion if this is ok?

That seems incorrect. You should have been granted 3 years.

See below thread, where people were writing back after almost a year and getting it corrected.

It really doesn't matter in your case, but if you don't mind the hassle, you could write back and get it corrected.

besides having granted 2 years in error is not un-common. If you search this forum, you will see quite a few experiences where folks were incorrectly granted 2 years and wrote back and got it corrected to 3 years.

245CB is an annoyingly confusing piece of text, but appears UKVI's interpretation should be 3 years, and so it should be for everyone!
