Received by VFS(Manchester) : 04/09/2014 8:30
VFS sent to HCI : Waiting
HCI issued surrender certificate : Waiting
VFS Email & SMS Alert of completion: Waiting

They charged me £129.04.

Surrender Fee and councilor charges - 108
VFS Service charge: 6.9
SMS charge - 1.33

Courier charge - 8.5
Administration charges - .80

On top of it VAT(On optional services, Admin services and Service Charge) - 3.51

Total - £129.04.

VFS is charging ridiculous amount as courier charges 8.50+ 1.7(VAT) = £10.2
I'm sure, courier companiy will not charge this amount.. VFS is talking a very good cut here..what a shame!!

Dear All,

I am going for a postal application for surrendering the Indian passport of my 7 year old son. Please could the experts reply to my query and verify the check list along with the postal address.

1) Self attested Photocopies: Can I sign for the self attestation of my son on all the photocopies as mentioned in the checklist below?
2) Mode of Payment: At the post office, can I use debit or credit card to pay or I have to pay using postal order only?
3) Debit or Credit card: If debit or credit card is allowed to be used in the post office, will the post office people have account details of the "VF Services UK Ltd" to whom the money should go to?

Documents I am attaching:
1) Completed application form with my signature on my son's behalf.
2) Original Indian passport of my son.
3) Photocopy of all the pages of my son's Indian passport attested by me.
4) Photocopy of ONLY the PHOTO page of my son's British passport attested by me. There is only one British passport for my son which i received yesterday.
5) Photocopy of my son's naturalization certificate attested by me.
6) Photocopy of my son's birth certificate attested by me.
7) Self addressed Royal Mail Special Delivery Envelope for return of Cancelled passport and surrender certificate.

Postal address:
India Visa Application Centre
The Vista Centre
First Floor – Part A Block
50 Salisbury Road
Hounslow
TW4 6JQ

Please could the experts confirm this is the correct Postal Address, correct checklist with replies to my 3 queries above. Please also mention if I am missing anything.

Please could you also confirm the following:
1) Correct application form: http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/pdf/Applicati ... 150214.pdf
2) Fees: £117.24. Postal Order Only OR Debit/Credit card at the post office?

Thankyou very much.

Can I submit application for myself and my wife? Is it necessary for her to be in person at VFS. In case if I can, is there any authority letter or any other document required from her side.

Thanks

Hi
I have got British passport for my kid 2 weeks back and time to surrender Indian passport.
I am planning to send postal application, but wondering how I can pay this fee (£117.24) in Post office as both VFS and PostOffice are separate entities.

Also, all postal application from any part of UK (unlike 4 HIC offices covering different part of UK)
should go to

India Visa Application Centre
The Vista Centre
First Floor – Part A Block
50 Salisbury Road
Hounslow
TW4 6JQ

Thanks
Macco

Postal Application
Do not send cash or credit card details along with your application by post. If a family or a group is applying for Surrender, they can pay the Surrender fees and the service charges for all the members by one draft or postal order.

Hi, I have got my British passport today. I'm travelling to India on 17th Dec 2014 and coming back on 8th Jan 2015. Again I have a plan to visit India on 25th April 2015.

I will travel to India with my Indian passport next week but my question is
- Can I surrender my Indian passport in India and travel back to UK with my British passport. I hope to get my surrender certificate within 2 weeks in India.

So I am planning to apply OCI card after coming to UK.

Please can you advise the best option.

you are allowed to use indian passport for travel upto 3 months from naturalisation, so don't surrender your indian passport in india. it will complicate the matter.
surrender your passport after return from india in january and then apply for OCI/PIO/Visa for your next travel.
