I am applying for Tier2 General from India, Hyderabad . When contacted with the Employer's Visa Team they have confirmed that there is no Priority processing available for Tier2 General.

Could any one let me know if infact there is not preimum processing for Tier2 General ? if any can anyone let me know whats the process for applying and any literature if possible

Thanks
When you submit your application and proceed to book the appointment, it will give you an option in the drop down for fast track. If it is available, Select it. Remember you will have to pay the extra 10.5K at the VFS whilst submitting your application. I can confirm it is available at Bangalore VFS and can't see a reason why shouldn't be in Hyderabad.

@navin,
" I can confirm it is available at Bangalore VFS and can't see a reason why shouldn't be in Hyderabad.". Just to let you know fast track is not available for tier 2 General even in Delhi where British High Commissioner is sitting . WHen I called the paid helpline 29th Aug spending 20 pounds ,they said fast track is trialled only in Bangalore in India and not any other place . I even selected Fast track option in visa site and inside VFS delhi they said only standard option available . Certain companies with A grade relationships will be allowed fast track for Tier 2 ICT etc as per VFS delhi centre.

I am in Tier4 Student Visa in the UK. I would like to switch to Tier2 in Turkey. If by any reason my switch application is refused, Can I return to the UK with my current Student Visa? Is my tier4 visa still valid?

Hi
Today I got message from vfs

The processed visa application for GWF ref no. (GWF033391569) was received at the UK Visa Application Centre on 9/30/2014. If a courier service was purchased from VFS, your processed visa application will be delivered to the chosen address. If not, the documents can be collected during the designated passport collection times.

Hope I will get all my docs ASAP

Hello,
I would really appreciate some help and advice.
I'm trying to find out a couple of things about my work colleague obtaining a tier 2 visa.
Some facts
my colleague is Australian and currently teaching in our school on a youth mobility visa.
Our school (and I!) want to keep her on longer than the visa so she needs a sponsored tier 2.
We have a sponsorship license which we have paid for and completed all the resident labour market tests by advertising the job etc.
our HR has today applied for her CoS.

Questions
we know she has to return to Aus to get this visa -(she's from Sydney) - can she start filling in the online application in the uk?
How long does it take from filling in the application form to actually getting an interview for the visa?
Is the visa interview face to face or will she need to visit the visa centre?
If we complete it as a priority application, how long does it take from the interview to actually having the visa stamp in the passport and ready to go?

We've tried SOOOOO many different lines of contact from home office but no=one seems able to help us.
I'd really appreciate some help.
Her YMV expires on 6/12/14 and we are hoping that she can go and get back for the start of term in January.
thoughts and any advice please?

Type of Visa: Tier 2 (general); (a work visa). A faculty position at a recognized and well-known university in the UK.
Place of visa application submission: Tel Aviv
Nationality: Israel

19 August 2014: online visa application, Tier 2 (general)
26 August 2014: Biometric appointment, submit all required documents
29 August 2014: Got a message from the relevant Visa center (Istanbul) of acceptance of application.
9 September 2014: Status: "awaiting assessment of visa" (I asked the UK immigration help desk for this)
5 October 2014: Status: "In progress"
10 October 2014: Status: "deferred"
21 October 2014: Guy in inquiry line gives me a "case" number and escalates my case.
21 October 2014: I get an email from the inquiry line stating my case has been escalated.
------------------------

So after more then two months of waiting my case has been escalated and I got even a "case" number. What does it mean? Guys, do you think it will really escalate anything?

@Phillipe_b , I can only share your pain as I am sailing in the same boat. I submitted on 1st sep for Tier 2 dependent visa and 10 days later the status was deferred . I got a call from British High commission around that time asking if main migrant has travelled to UK and when I said yes probably they put my application on back burner. 1 week back after paid VFS phone call , I got an escalation number and british high commission responded in mail asking me to be patient as decision yet to be made. I can definetly say that British high commission is lacking manpower and prioritizing visa either category based or individual basis .For example my guess would be Tier 4 student visas given higher priority.

Hello Porus. Thanks for sharing your story. I hope you'll get your visa soon.

I don't really understand why would they defer your application based on the fact that the "main migrant" traveled to the UK? Why is it bad? Obviously, the main migrant should have traveled to the UK in the past; in fact he/she should already live in the UK, no?

(Perhaps I don't understand the situation well: if I understood correctly, you are the dependent (son/daughter/wife/husband) of the Main Migrant who is already in the UK? Right?)

informed that there was an IT issue with our system, we are still working
on getting an update from the Help Desk to find out about your application."
