Tier2 ICT to ILR - Glasgow PSC - Success

Post by polani » Mon Sep 22, 2014 11:30 am

Hi Everyone,

First of all, Many Thanks to Moderators and members for setting up this venue to resolve immigration queries. I am glad to say, I am one of those who benefited from this forum.

Here is my contribution by sharing my experience! - My ILR has been approved on Saturday 20th Sep 2014 @ Glasgow PSC

Initially, i was very much confused, but it was pretty straight forward case. Luckily they were short staffed hence they didn't call me for case registration, instead they came to waiting area and collected documents with no questions asked. Then straight to biometrics enrollment after 1 and half hour and then got the approved letter after another another 1 and half hour.

My Scenario:
Visa category: Tier 2 ICT
First Entry: 29th Aug 2009
First Visa Ext: 27th Jul 2012
Second visa ext: 14th Jul 2014
Outside UK: 165 days. Worked 75 days from India (in 2 occasions). Rest are paid vacation

Documents submitted in the order:

1 X Appointment confirmation
1 X Payment sheet
1 X Completed and signed Home Office application form;
2 X Passport sized photographs 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm;
2 X Original passport containing your Tier 2 visa;
1 X Biometric Residence Permit ;
1 X Your original Life in the UK test pass certificate;
1 X Tier 2 ICT PBS Calculator;
1 X Original Masters Degree;
1 X Employer’s supporting letter confirming ongoing employment;
6 X Original payslips immediately prior to the date of your appointment;
6 X Original bank statements confirming those salary credits;
5 X Original P60s last 5 years;

Documents I have but not submitted:
1 X UKNARIC letter for Masters degree comparison;
1 X Employee letter for work related absences
1 X Immigration stamping copies;
1 X COS;
* e-tickets

Interesting fact: My case worker called my HR while reviewing my case.
Once again, Thank you all!

Thanks & Regards,
Polani

Hi draveshiya,

When I spoke to my HR today, they told me the case worker has called to confirm the details I provided in the employment letter are correct or not.

Yeah, I was surprised too!

Hi Polani,

Congratulations for your ILR...

I am also applying ILR under Tier2 ICT in the next week. When I saw ur list of documents then i found Tier 2 ICT PBS Calculator.

I am also thinking to take print out of Tier 2 ICT PBS Calculator but I can't see Qualifications (Bachelors Degree) category under Tier2 category.

Could you please let me know if I take PBS print out under Tier 2 without Qualifications category, that will be enough for ILR?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Raj

Thank you Raj!

Well, the intent of PBS calculator was to show my points for English language.
As I explained here, http://www.immigrationboards.com/indefi ... l#p1065918 by me and others, you can choose "Yes" for the respective question, so it will show you the options to choose your Degree.

However if your degree is Bachelor of Engineering from India, and your query is you can no longer see it in the list, your situation is similar to that of my Friend. He did BE from JNTU Hyderabad, India. He has a Solicitor who verified with UK home office regarding BE degree. The resolution for this case is, UK Home office has changed this recently and you will be able to find your BE Degree under a different category.

"Professional Bachelor degree" in qualification section,
"Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad" in Institution,
"4 years or less than 5" in Length of course ,

Hope this helps! You can call Home Office to get a confirmation to be on the safer side.

Good luck for your ILR!

Regards,
Polani

Hi Polani,

Thanks for swift reply.

I tried as per your suggetion and I can see Qualifications category which have given 10 points. Also university is recognized by the system (Mumbai University).

Thank you very much.

Raj

Hi Polani can you send across the sponsor letter format you have used?
question I have is whom did you address it to? 'Home Office' or 'The Border and Immigration Agency'?

I have used the template on this forum http://www.immigrationboards.com/indefi ... 76413.html, and changed it as per my circumstances.

I addressed it to

UK Visas & Immigration
Home Office
Glasgow Premium Service Centre
Scotland

As far as I understand, they are least bothered about it. You may address it to "who ever so it may concern" or simply "UK home office".

You need to make sure you have provided all the information they need, eg: your SOC code, job role(title as per SOC), designation, employment start date, secondment date, Salary as per SOC, your current Salary, number of hours your salary is based on etc.

Regards,
Polani
