Can I work part time while I wait for Entrepreneur Visa?

My Tier 2 General Visa expired in May 2014 and I applied for Tier 1 Entrepreneur before the expiry date.

While I wait for my Entrepreneur visa, can I work part time (20 hours per week ) for any other employer in any field ?

Page 56 of Tier 2 visa guidance at below address says something about supplementary work but its not clear. I am no longer working for my previous employer who sponsored my Tier 2 visa

Below is the quote from Home Office Tier 2 General guidance

Supplementary employment

209.You do not need to inform us of any supplementary employment, as long as it is:
•in either a job on the Shortage Occupation List or a job in the same sector and at the same professional level as the work for which your Certificate of Sponsorship was assigned; and
• no more than 20 hours per week; and
• outside of the normal working hours for which your Certificate of Sponsorship was assigned.

210. In addition, you must continue to work for your sponsor in the job recorded on your Certificate of Sponsorship.

@ niceguy200458, technically your previous Tier 2 general visa is still valid by virtue of section 3C and d same rule on supplementary job is still applicable to you. So you can take up a part-time job role as stated in the requirement.

I have the following doubts

1.) I currently do not work for my Tier 2 sponsor and point no 210 states that I should continue to work for my sponsor and take up job outside of normal working hours for my sponsor?

2.) Also the guidance states that the part time job has to be at same "Professional level".

Does that mean it has to be in same industry i.e. IT ? (I worked as System Admin in IT for my sponsor)

Please can someone help?

@ niceguy200458, it doesn't matter if you have stop working for your previous sponsor, you are still allowed to do the supplementary job as you have a pending application and your previous visa is still valid by virtue of section 3C, but the job must either be at the same level and sector which you were doing with your previous sponsor or be a job on shortage occupation list.

Yes, your supplementary job has to be in the IT sector and same level you were doing with your previous sponsor except if its a shortage skill job.
