Update for my sister in law.

SET (M)
Submitted 7 August 2014
Letter of acknowledgement 11 August 2014
Payment taken 12 August 2014
Application returned to us dated 04 September 2014 (requesting additional parts of form to be completed)
Application re-posted 10th September 2014
Biometrics letter received 22/09/2014.
Biometrics completed 22/09/2014

My biggest regret is that I didn't get them to go for the Premium Service, her father passed away on Tuesday and we couldn't send her to visit her family because of this, it would mean withdrawing the application, but that;s not even the problem, they problem is it would take 10 days to get the Docs and by which time you think is there any point? Also she would have only have been able to go for a few days because the original visa was set to expire in mid October.

Anyways, my advice from experience of both systems. If you can afford it and you have a fairly routine case without complications like overstaying, go for the premium service.

8 months wait is quite huge. Was it SET(O)?

Hey.my advice to you is not to withdraw your application,if you can extend the burial of your sister-in-law to 4 months gap, home office says with 6 months but I discovered that is taking 4 months and some days, just wait.God bless you.

OMG I don't know what to say :.(

I have been waiting for my result last week and then they have sent me a letter and asked me to get ESOL Level 3 exam and send the certificate to them. Otherwise they were going to refuse my application.

I got the test and past it. Then got the certificate and sent back to them last Thursday.

Now waiting for my result and i HAVE TWO WEEKS LEFT TO MY FLIGHT :.(

I made my application on 8th of May.

Is there anyone who applied around same dates?

Here is my Tier1 Set (O) May application result:

Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah finally the day came..

SET (O) ILR (Tier1 Gen)
Received 22-09-2014 approval letter from HO with documents issued date 19-09-2014. It took 4 month 2 weeks and 2 days
Application Date : 06-05-2014
Biometrics done : 18-06-2014
Approval with Documents return : 19-09-2014
BRP received : 26-09-2014

NB : My case was different, I came late UK 101 days after 1st visa issued due to the reason i was not went to PEO. Most of them suggested i should go for another extension and also HO help line were suggested i need extensions.
1st grand date : 17-03-2009
UK entry date : 28-06-2009 (101 days delay)
Extension given up to 09-05-2014 (If i count backward i am short 45 days and forward 101 days)
For ILR i can only Apply within 28 days before.. so either way i can’t go to PEO.

That’s why I tried with by post and Alhamdulillah its granted by HO.

Why i am giving this scenario as i know like me so many people’s are facing this issue how they should go for. I know it will take time to get back the decision from HO but you will be save from another extension as per my experience.
I think it will be helpful for everyone.

I am a silent reader of this forum and its really helpful from this forum..

Thanks every one for your valuable feedback every time.

Hi Sweets23,

I did mine on 8th of May by posting.

Then I got a letter on 18th of September that about ESOL 3 exam. They wanted me to take this exam and send back the certificate to them. I did it. And sent the certificate on 25th of September. They got it by 26th morning.

I have been waiting since then :(

I called them yesterday and they told me that "no decision has been made yet" !!!

The worst thing is that I have a flight on 11th of october :.(

My wife has applied for ILR via SET(M) on 12th May, 2014 through postal service. Still no decision from the HO. My wife phoned the HO couple of days ago, and they said the application is still in process. Seriously, how much slow can they get? We should have paid for the premium service.

Hello there!

This is such a useful forum... it keeps me sane! I applied the same day as wishme6 (13th May) and still have not heard anything. I phoned the home office last Thursday and the man told me that the SET(O) applications from May had not been started. Has anybody who applied in early May received any news since last Thursday? Honestly, I cannot regret more not have applied in person...
