Tier 1 - ENT Visa - £200000 route

Post by 1664 » Tue Oct 21, 2014 11:40 am

Hello All,

I am looking to apply for the Tier 1 ENT visa from India via the £200000 route.
I had a question on the amount. Should the whole amount be yours or can it be partly yours and partly borrowed from the bank. I have £100000 worth of money and looking to raise a further £200000 to make a total investment of £300000.

Do you think this is viable or should the £200000 be totally mine residing in an regulated bank account.
I really do not wish to have any loop holes where they can reject my application.

Also from your knowledge what is the pass rate for such an application of the £200000 route?

Thanks a lot in advance

Best Wishes

I am not answering your question per se, but there are a few people looking for team members in India with £100K from their side. You can look at this option instead of going to the bank, if you wish. Search on this forum or send me a PM, I have a couple of contacts I gained from this forum.
•12-Feb-2015: Applied online (Team), 200K, India
•13-Feb-2015: Submitted documents and biometrics
•25-Feb-2015: Received email saying that they need more time
•03-Mar-2015: Interviewed separately
•05-Mar-2105: Received docs and passport with visa stamped!

Thanks, However, my original question still remains if I don't want a partner Can a bank loan suffice towards the £200k? Or should the £200K be wholly and solely mine?

Thanks,

Raising money through a bank loan should be "technically" OK as long as the money is in your account and the source of funding is genuine (bank loan in this case). But, it's at the discretion of the case worker looking at your application.

Hi ,
Thats a good question to be considered. I am no expert or guru but personally to be on safer side i would rather have my own money than to depend on bank, as in the policy guidance there is no where mentioned about the bank loan considered to be ok. would rather not jepordise my case .

first thing is that you and your partner should have 200k in total and both can have access to this 200k. If you want to raise money from a bank instead, it is better that you raise it from other country, otherwise u may be questioned

Thanks to all that replied.

That is correct about no mention of the bank loan being OK in the guidance notes. Or maybe that's what they refer to as third party? a little ambiguous.

I would also agree that having the own funds is a better and a less hassle option.

More views welcome.

Thanks again

Thanks

They are contributing £100k and thinking of raising £200K from an indian bank that is regulated.

So you saying in the above scenario it has been rejected?

Third party funding is fine as long as it is equity funding (ie funds from an investor).
Debt funding, such as the bank loan, will be questioned and whether or not it will be accepted will depend on your overall business proposal and business model.
