Reporting changes to HomeOffice

Post by WAQQASBHANGOO » Tue Sep 30, 2014 10:34 am

I am going for extension at the end of this year.

Since my last extension, I have changed my address and renewed my passport.

Could some please guide whether we need to report these changes to Home office or it doesn't matter?

Appreciate your comments.

Thanks

No there is no need to inform to Home Office for change of address.
Its normally required only if your any visa application pending in Home Office.

I don't believe this is the case. I think under the Biometric Permit regulations, you always need to inform the Home Office of a change in address. Here's some info:

https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances ... p/overview

In particular, this part:

"You must report changes to your address, personal details or circumstances if you have a visa or biometric residence permit (BRP), or if you’ve applied for one."

Also, if you're required to register with the police, you will need to update your details with them separately.

Hi Waqqasbhangoo & jonbca

I have changed my address twice after I got my extension but I have never reported any address changes to HO.
It is recommended but not required.

It's a different story if you are awaiting a response from UKBA or you are required to register with police.

Thanks

If you have a police registration document read what is written on it.

I have one and I forgot to inform them of the change of passport. I got a verbal warning by the police officer with a threat to be deported for non respect of Immigration act I sign for myself.

Might be a different case if you need to register with police but as i dont need to register with Police.

I went for extension last week and i had changed my address twice since my last extension & they never asked about the change of address.
