English Exam evidence

Post by Hunnybee » Thu Oct 23, 2014 5:40 pm

My wife came home today to her ILTR letter feeling excited after a long wait. That quickly turned to sadness and disappointment when we read that we did not provide the correct English language results.

I thought that passing the KET exam was enough. However, upon doing more research I've learned that it you must pass with distinction to get the required B1 level from this exam.
They've now given us until the 10th November 2014 to get them the required evidence.

I don't see how it is possible to book, sit the exam, get the results and send it off to them in time.
Is there anything we can do with this?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

if you live in around london then you can book LRN B1 course here
http://www.theenglishacademy.co.uk/our- ... on-boards/
and pay extra £40 on top of course fee they will issue you certificate in 3 to 5 days.
I checked next available date is 30th Oct. and you will get certificate hopefully by 5th Nov.
if you don't live near London than check these venue near to your home

Thank you very much for your help Malik!
All the KET/PET exams that I saw were middle of next month. And the next IELTS general test would also not be ready in time...

After browsing the forums a bit, I came across a thread that says expired iELTS qualifications are indeed accepted.
My wife did that before and passed so now we are thinking that we will more likely get a positive result if we send that rather than re-sit a test.

Thanks again.

You can used only if you have used the expired IELTS certificate in a previous application.
Please read following threads.

Yes, we used that certificate for when we first applied for her Spouse Visa.

The links were helpful - thanks for those. It seems like quite a few others have used expired IELTS certificate and being accepted.

A follow up question for this.
When they sent us that letter requesting the English language certificate, they also gave us back our passports.
Just passports, none of the other documents.

Can we now go on holiday even though we have not got the final result back yet??
