U.K Dependent Visa Extention

Hi All,

My U.K Dependent Visa will expire on Jan 31st 2014.Can I travel to U.K before the VISA expiry date and then apply for an extention from U.K ?

I am planning to travel to U.K on Jan 23rd 2015 and my current VISA will expire on Jan 31st 2015 .After reaching there I am planning to extend my VISA till May.

Is there any risk doing this?

I will book a return ticket before my visa expire date and then later cancel it.

Why do you wish to "later cancel it"?

While going to U.K I will book a return ticket before Jan 31st,since my current Visa will expire on Jan 31st,it is just for the immigration clearance at the port of entry.

I am planning to stay in U.K till May last week,since the return date is tendative,I will cancel my return ticket on Jan 31st soon after reaching U.K
