Ireland entry visa - Non Eu Pakistan Process query

Post by alphagear » Thu Sep 11, 2014 9:52 am

Hi,

I am a british citizen looking to gain an entry visa for my Pakistani spouse by under the Directive in Ireland.

Just wanted to know the process in gaining an Ireland Entry visa for "Family member of Eu citizen".

I know an online application has to be filled. The summary sheet needs to be sent alongwith the supporting documents. I dont see an Irish consulate/embassy in North Pakistan.

Will the summary sheet and documents need to be posted? If yes will originals need to be sent. How secure is this process since the documents will also need to be returned back. Spouse lives in a village.

Anyone gone this route have any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi, I went down this route earlier this year, have a look at my thread if you need a cover letter or other info.

Yes, the originals need to be posted except the British passport of the spouse, a photocopy is all they need. I sent my original nikah and attested nadra marriage certificate. The consulate is in Karachi and I posted them via TCS and recieved them via them also.

Whats the usual process time for the visa and is it possible to send directly to dublin?

Just read your story. Noticed your spouse got stamp at arrival in airport? Did you not send spouses(Applicants) passport to Karachi?

You can use TCS throughout Pakistan including villages.
It should be within a month though mine took 2 weeks. Including flight booking confirmation speeds things up.

No, you need to send it to the consulate the online visa system tells you to.
She got the visa stamp from Karachi. At Dublin she was given an entry stamp which shows the day you entered.

Right so on return I should get TCS to collect documents from honorary consulate to return to village?

Is that right?

Really appreciate your help.

Yes the Irish Consulate use TCS and TCS will deliver the passport and documents to your door step no matter where ever ur village is.

So send the docs via TCS and receive the docs via TCS. You can also track ur parcel online on TCS website, if you have the tracking number. While i sent my wife visa application i traced the parcel all the way down and when her visa was approved i phoned the consulate and the guy on the phone confirmed that they have sent the passport to our home address and provided me the TCS tracking number which i used online and in next day we received her passport.

Hope that helps.

What address did you got on ur application form ? Anyway on the department of foreign affairs website, you can track the correct address. Click on the below link for info:

https://www.dfa.ie/embassies/irish-emba ... /pakistan/

You also better to call the Irish Consulate Karachi to verify the address.

Good Luck

Glad to know ur query is resolved. However, last year when i applied for my wife visa it was a different address and few years ago they had a different one. So who ever is reading this post in few months / year time. Make sure to contact the Irish consulate and confirm their new address. It seems they change the location every few month like cats....:)

You are right Calvin

they did not pick up the phone. The reason they replied in 45 mins is that I email them from my work address that has @gov.uk on it. otherwise they dont bother to reply.

How long did they take to process your visa.

Will the UK application effect Irish visa.

My wife visa took about 10 weeks but we are talking about two years ago, now a days INIS is taking about 6 months for join spouse visa for spouse of Irish / EU citizens.

All the best.

My visa is not join spouse visa. It is accompany visa. I have mentioned it on the cover letter to them that it should not take more than 4 weeks which is not going to happen anyway but thought to try as the EU law states that clearly.

Just a few more questions.

Will the documents need attesting from ministry of foreign affairs or are the stamps on marriage certificates enough?

Secondly will health insurance need to be taken out by spouse in pakistan or can that be done later? Same case with polio certificate?

Will i need to send money for the documents to be returned by tcs or will INIS pay for it.

Based on my personal experience I did certified each and every document from the Notary public and from ministry of foreign affairs.

If your wife is joining you as spouse of Irish or EU citizen, health insurance is not required from Pakistan.

Polio cert is required when traveling from Pakistan and not at present.

You will pay for the TCS for one way (when sending docs) and on the way back Irish consulate will pay the TCS charges.

Make sure to send three sets of documents to Irish consulate. i.e. One original docs set and two set of copies.

Make sure your wife sign the Pakistani passport otherwise the consulate will send it back.

Any question let me know.

In the process of filling out online application form.

Stuck on question "Are you exempt from the requirement to provide biometrics?"

What will I need to provide?

Did anyone have to provide biometrics and where was it done?

Yes if you are living in pakistan regardless of nationalities from 6th of November if you are applying for irish visa you must attend gerrys visa centre to provide biometric.
you are only exempt if you are under five years of age.
So please select NO for this question if you areif you are not 5 years of age.

Any ideas regarding travel insurance for non eu family member?

It is required or should we simply sign up for health insurance in Ireland?
