Irish Visit Visa (Spouse/Partner of EU National)

Hi,

We are planning to visit a family friend in Dublin for Christmas (Short stay) I'm a British Citizen and my spouse is on 'UK - Spouse Visa'. We are both UK residents and will be travelling together.

Does my spouse need to apply for a visa? And if yes, in which category?
There' are 2 categories which are confusing me in the online application form
Family member of EU/EEA/Swiss national (Spouse)
or
Visit Family/Friend

Appreciate any advice on this query of mine.
