w.e.f 9 July 2012 14 year long stay concession is finished – I think under your circumstances you now need 20 years stay to qualify for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or permanent residence (PR)

seniors correct me if i am wrong

@Malik & Casa thanks for your comments guys .
But does this mean my chances on current application are very faded?.
Waiting another 6yrs is like a being on death row ☺️

There is no longer a 14 year concession.

The call for biometrics is standard practice and has no bearing on whether the application will be approved or not.

Every application requires biometrics. This is not an indication AT ALL that your application will be accepted or rejected.

Hi guys ,I am wondering if someone on the forum can answer my questions, what's the time scale for biometrics approval?
Is there any such thing as biometric approval letter?.
The reason for my questions is because on 12 November 2014 I received what the HO claimed to be a second and final biometric request even though I had not received their first one.
Anyway on the 13th of November 2014 I had the biometrics done and submitted.
I have not heard anything since.I know my case is complex and trading on very thin ice with regards to credibility etc but I would have thought acknowledgment of biometrics would be standered mandatory procedure.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated as usual

Kindest regards

Stateless person application

Post by Foxybuiscuit » Fri Jan 01, 2016 6:32 am

September 2015 I bumped into a friend who referred me to his solicitor whom he assured me that my hopeless case had a good chance of success. So I went to see them and a file was opened for me for a total of £600 to process a stateless person application.
Now my defence was based on the following facts :
HO lost my passport, birth certificate and national ID during the processing of my asylum
HO admitted to this fact and I have a letter to that fact.
HO wrote to me in 2014 that they were revoking my uk driving licence the only form of ID I had left with.
A couple of months later I received a letter from the DVLA informing me that my driving license had subsequently been revoked as I did not have the right to remain.
At this point the HO had managed to strip me of anything that proves who I m.
I however went to my embassy to try and get a new passport but I was issued with a document which stated that the embassy was not processing or issuing any passport renewal forms to asylum seekers both failed & successful applicants.
End of Oct-2015 received a letter from HO stating that I would required to come for an interview in Liverpool and should reply with in 14 days if I wished to be invited to which I promptly replied.
The letter stated that it may take up to six months for the invite to come through so I m eagerly still waiting.
My question to the board members is,does my case has substance in it?,has anyone has had any experience along this route and what's involved in the interview, just preparing myself if this interview materialises.
Thank you all in advance & I await to you responses.

Regards

Just because you don't have ID doesn't mean you are stateless...

However, you probably cannot be removed if your country refuses to issue you a passport. This, however, does not automatically confer legal stay in the UK. Basically, I reckon you are stuck in limbo until you can apply for FLR under the 20 year route.

Hello Physicskate
Thanks for your response I very much appreciate your opinion.I will keep you all posted with the developments.
The worst that happen for me is probably spend more money funding a different route till the 20yrs lapses
