insurance for spouse visa {compulsory}

Post by DublinGirl » Wed Nov 12, 2014 11:03 am

Dear, Members can anyone tell me that if the health insurance or travel insurance is really compulsory for non eu spouse visa my wife and son are applying for visas to join me and how many days cover my wife and son need to choose for travel insurance? I have health insurance for myself but they don't and insurance companies need irish residents only to avail insurance policies [either travel or health insurance] if you could give me some suggestions and travel insurance providers details please.
thanks.....

As far as i know travel / health insurance is not required if ur spouse is joining u in Ireland as a spouse of Irish or EU citizen. I am an Irish citizen and i didn't provided any kind of travel/health insurance for my spouse from Pakistan. Alot of my friends spouses joined them here as well but no one asked for travel / health insurance.

BUT

Travel / health insurance is required if they r coming to Ireland on visit visa.
