Travel after child MN1 application

Post by setmadel » Sun Dec 07, 2014 2:07 am

Hi,

I am planning to submit MN1 to register my 5 year old kid for British naturalisation under section 3(1). I am already Naturalized BC and my wife on ILR and my son is on ILE (Indefinite leave to Enter). my question is can we go out of country on holiday trip for 1 month after submitting the application? please advise.

Thanks
Mady

My wife and 3 years old daughter are both on ILR. I applied for Naturalisation through NCS for myself and daughter, due to family bereavement wife and daughter had to immediately travel abroad. And they are away for three months now.

But, I am still in UK and waiting for letter, that is important part, you can travel but need to make arrangements for any letter(s) from Home Office.

Best of luck. :)
Being British is a state of mind.

Your child can travel outside of UK even if their MN1 application is pending.

BUT it is not advisable unless you can prove at all the borders that your child is entitled visa free entry into the UK. I am sure there will be a lot of questions asked without a UK visa or passport.

If your son has ILE, then there are no problems with him returning to the UK within 2 years.
