Traffic conviction history

Post by Darr81 » Wed Jan 22, 2014 1:44 pm

Hi guys,
I will be applying for citizenship in april, i am in ireland for over 10 years, i am wondering if any one come across some one's application being approved while convicted of a traffic offence, reason why because i was convitcted last year in court for breaking a red light on a bicycle, i was sent court summons since gardai cant issue fines for bicycle offences, have paid the fine and kept the receipt. I am very stressed out in these days, dont know if it will get approved or not??
Thanks in advance

Don't stress out ur self. Once the matter is settled in court and you have paid the fine. You are OK.

Can i ask what was the amount of fine you have paid in court ?

Thank you for replying calvin
The fine was €120 euro, and i kept the recipt as an evidence, i hope the minister overlook this incident as i have never drawn any attention from the gardai in the past.

Don't kill yourself with worry. Apply for it, be honest about the offence & include paid fine evidence. You won't have any issues or long delay

Hi Darr81,

My experience:
2 fines for no motor tax :(
1 speeding fine :(

Submitted with application the receipt for no motor tax (only had one receipt) and the speeding fine.

Applied Aug 2013, Approved Jan 2014 :D

So if you are honest, submit the evidence that you have paid the fine then things should be ok.

Thanks mate, but mate does it make any diff between a court conviction and a plain simple fine? Which by the way i paid it straight away. Thanks

I don't know, but in your case I'm going to hazard a guess and say no as you said the garda couldn't issue an on the spot fine, so the only option it sounds like was the court appearance/fine
