Hello to all @s

A friend of mine who got his approval in Sep, and wasn't invited to Cork ceremony "last ceremony". He applied in late Feb,2014 got his invitation letter yesterday.
Wishing all to get approvals and more wisdom for who is waiting for it. Have Good Day

@all
any update

It seems that hopes are lost at least for getting approval this year.... I think the reason they started saying the application status: "now in Second stage" it a delibrate move since they want to avoid having anymore calls so that they can go easily for XMas break.... If you can sense by each of the update from whom called them on Thursday and got the similar reply stating "your application is in Second stage now and we are waiting for Garda reports"... but than you screamed "Hey my application was submitted to the minister 1-2 months ago"....
Relax my friends I think its just they might be fedup of answering the same questions and hence they are treating callers like this.... Keep your faith in GOD everything will be fine... 8)

Anyone know if the Irish government is reporting citizenship approvals to embassies or other governments?

Curious specifically about the process for Chinese people. My partner will apply for Irish citizenship in the future (I'm an Irish citizen) and he would (albeit it illegally in the eyes of China) like to retain his Chinese citizenship. I've heard that the Chinese embassy now randomly attend citizenship ceremonies and that they have other ways of knowing.

Any experience? Heard anything about this?

Thanks!

No man even if they ask them formally. Unless you are a T, such info not shared unless you disclose it. As for attending ceremonies, how they will know who are you? Even jf they were shouting your fullname they wont be able to recognise you unless you tell them this is me and i have new nationality.. Attending ceremonies is by invite so they cant be in really

Did they actually contact you back asking you to fill one of previous addresses you havent mentioned in addresses for last 10 years section?????? If so, and while they knew your previous address already, why on earth they wanted to see it on paper?!?!?

i don't think department had asked for it, as he said, he forgot to mentioned one of the previous addresses, so he sent to them himself.

One of my friends had the same situation. He went to Immigration office before the expiry of his wife's GNIB with his citizenship approval letter. The Garda officer put a one month stamp on his wife's passport free of charge and ask him to come back when he get his naturalization certificate to put stamp 4 on his wife's passport. Never ever allow gaps in stamps as it will make difficulties when you apply for your wife's naturalization. BTW reentry visa is usually until the date of the expiry of the GNIB. How come your wife's visa validity is more than her GNIB card validity?

you need to use to be Irish citizen and you will be dealt with as Irish national and in Ireland so, no more traps to catch your money or to be put on the wrong foot or to be over charged for no reason as a customer expect more sense and more understanding and observing. And deal with the system from there.
Enjoy ;)
