Tier 5- age query

Post by Brana » Fri Jan 23, 2015 4:41 am

Hi everyone,

Hoping someone could clarify this query for me (having trouble locating an answer on the gov.uk website).
My partner and I are planning on applying for a Tier 5 UK visa. We're applying from Australia and she turns 30 in September. If we apply and get approval before she's 30;

- does she have to enter the country before she's 30?
- will the via start when we enter the country?
- will she be able to stay for the full 24 month period or just until 31?

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The age at the date of application is the relevent date assuming you are seeking to have the visa issued immediately.
The visa expiry date is 24 months from issue, the clock starts ticking on the day it is issued.
If you are seeking a forward dated visa then you must still be in the qualifying age at the commencement date of the visa.
If you qualify and get a visa it is for 24 months regardless of when you turn. 31.
