1 month entry on arrival

Post by Prince_irl » Sat Jan 17, 2015 5:58 pm

hi,

Finally my family is in Dublin on EU spouse visa.

But they got only 1 month entry stamp. Even for child no stamp as they say that under 16 is not comming under immigration in Ireland.

As I m new in Ireland as well. And no job even bank account etc..... My question is can I ask immigration to extend that entry to 3 month....??? Or should I just send EU 1 form and submit the documents later ....????

Any same kind of expeiance please ..... ...

My partner got the same when she came to join me on a join EU family member visa.

If you can gather the required documents before the end of the 1 month period, just submit your EU1 application (we did that and even though they took a while to issued the temporary Stamp 4 and her initial one month had expired in the meantime, they told us there was no need to register as we had submitted the application within the first month).

If not send an email to eutreatyrights@justice.ie and let them know about the situation. I think they are likely to tell you tat you don't need to register before your visa expiry date. If it is the case great and make sure you keep a copy of their email.

If not you might have to go to the GNIB office and register for the duration of your visa.

Thanks I sent them email and waiting for thier response.

I came here few week ago as I don't find out accommodation and job yet. If I send EU1 form I have to submit my passport as well and it will be back in 4-6 week and without passport no body gonna give me job.

There is not point in sending the form without a proof of employment anyway (or studying or self sufficiency). If this is missing they will not accept the application.

See what they say but worst case in the short term they just just as your family to go register at the GNIB.

Good luck to find a job, this will be your key to get everything to work.

For the interest of other member who may have a same satiation...

I sent email to EU treaty department and received answer from them.. :)

Email

Hi

I been to immigration office and they gave me advice to contact your
department.

I am British citizen come to Ireland 2 week ago to exercise my EU treaty
rights. On 15 Jan my family arrive to Dublin. The immigration officer issue
1 month visa on arrival.
As far as I know under the EU Treaty right in Ireland I can stay for up to
3 month without any restriction.

Then why your immigration officer on airport restricting our right from 3
month to 1 month.....???

I am trying to find out jobs, currently I am living with some body else as
I am waiting for my house to rent. I have to do a lot of documentation
before I Apply for my family EU 1 form.

And even if I apply in between 1 month then my passport will be with
immigration for 5-6 weeks and without passport I will not get a job.

So I am thinking that it is unfair with me to restrict my EU treaty rights.

So if you can please let me know if I can extend that entry from 1 month to
3 month and I am hopeful that by then I will be able to produce all the
documentation and even if not I still have a right to be in the state for 3
month anyway.

Thanks

And now received answer form them

Dear Ali,

Any endorsement in a person's passport is a matter for the immigration
officer.

It is open to your family members to attend at your local immigration
office to seek the remainder of their 90 days.
