Tier-4 Extension Interview Problem. URGENT!

Post by Zack1234 » Fri Mar 06, 2015 7:05 pm

Hello Everyone,

I have found this forum really helpful. I am in a weird situation and would like to know what are your thoughts.

Basically, I had a tier 4 interview for extension within UK. My previous course grades are outstanding and my IELTS score is overall 7.5 band with speaking being highest 8.5.

My current visa allowed me to work and I worked 8 hours a week which is below the level working hours allowed.
However, during my interview I lied that I don't/didn't work. If somehow HO finds out that I have worked will they reject my application? and will I be able to make an appeal against the decision for making a false statement?

Hi,

They won't waste time to know whether you work or not. If you have fulfilled the student visa TIER4 requirement, then you don't need to worry.

@Jonmattias

Thank you for replying back. I am not sure, I would like to know if that is going to put me in some kind of trouble and it is seriously worrying me.

Frontier Mole or Greenie, what are your thoughts? or anyone else?

i think HO have real bigger problems to worry about.

first of all they check NI to find out who is working and how much. as you said you worked 8hrs a week only
your NI contributions must be very low. they will most probably not bother to dig that further.

even if they find out you were working, you were way below your allowed hours. it is possible you worked in the past and were not working when were called on the interview.

anyway i dont think they will waste their time when you did not break your previous visa rules and there are plenty reasons and stories you can tell for saying no on interview

Reasons & stories like? So, incase something goes wrong for that reason will I be able to appeal against it ?

Take it easy .......if you are work 8 hours a week i think even they don`t deduct NI contribution for that less amount of money you are getting in a week , check your payslips , have they deducted NI contribution ?? if not then nothing to worry , if yes still nothing to worry its not an big issue, as you was allowed to work doesn`t matter what you have said in interview.

I am a bit worried as I haven't heard from them yet.

The longer they take the more worried I get.

How long you guys had to wait after the interview?
