I have applied in july and sent a complaint on 26th Feb , Received below email Yesterday
Dear Mr XXXXX
Thank you for your email correspondence of 26 February, about your application for naturalisation as a British citizen, submitted on 14 July 2014.
I am sorry that it is taking longer than we would wish for your application to be processed and that you feel our service did not meet your expectations on this occasion.
As you may be aware, our service standard is that we will complete 100% of workable and straightforward cases within six months. The definition of a workable case, and what we expect from our customers, is available on our website at: http://www.gov.uk/government/organisati ... r-services. Where further information is required, the case will not be classed as workable, and may take longer to decide.
Naturalisation is not an entitlement and before granting British citizenship we must be satisfied that an applicant meets all statutory requirements. It is standard policy to undertake a number of enquiries before an application for naturalisation can be decided. Some of these enquiries are carried out by external agencies on our behalf and can sometimes take longer than six months to complete.
Furthermore, following recent clarification of the Nationality rules, greater levels of scrutiny will be applied to certain applications. This will be dependent on certain indicators within their immigration history that pre-date the application for naturalisation. Your case has been identified as such a case and it has not been possible to conclude it within six months.
We expect to make a decision on your application within the next three to six months, but we will write to you again if this is not going to be possible. Please note we will contact you with further updates and can advise that you do not need to contact us again unless your circumstances change significantly.
Please do not contact the UKVI Contact Centre regarding the progress of your case as they will not be able to provide any further information. This also applies to any family members whose applications for citizenship were submitted at the same time.
Please accept my apologies for the delay in deciding your application.
If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may wish to seek a review in writing within one month from the date on this letter to the following address:

Date of debit of fees: 07/08/2014
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 09/08/2014 (dated 06/08/2014)
Date of receipt of 3-6 month letter: 09/02/2015 (dated 03/02/2015)
Date of receipt of approval: 26/03/2015 (dated 17/03/2015)
Date of Ceremony: 22/04/2015 (provided by the council)

It has been 6 months on 28/01/15 since reciept by ukba. I only called the HO from the 6th month
HO Call dates -
02/01/2015 - mentioned its under consideration and to wait until 28/1/15 as 6 months will be complete then. The person also mentioned that I could write a letter if I didn't get anything until then. Also mentioned that HO would send out a letter to us in case it was getting delayed beyond 6 months.
22/01/15 - same response, under consideration and to wait until 28/01/15 as that's when 6 months are up.
28/01/15 - same response, under consideration, but now this person said the 6 months will be up on 06/02/15 not 28/01/15 as the fees was deducted on 06/08/14 and caseworker allocated at that time! So to wait another week until 06/02/15. He mentioned he will put in the notes to remind caseworker, but doubt this really helped as nothing so far and it's 06/02/15 day after.

Plan to call tomorrow 05/02/15 but expecting the same response. Hence will be writing a letter as well early next week with a few queries around my application (which was in theory a very straight forward application).

Would anyone know the address where we are to post the letter to? as I couldn't find it on their site.

I see there's a few people applied in may/June/July 2014 and still waiting.. Hope we all get this soon!

Thanks very much for all the help

Regards
==========

Update..

Called the HO on 5/2/15, the update was the same 'under consideration. I got the address from them to write a letter requesting an update. However, before I could post my letter, I received the 6 months+ letter on 9/2/15 (dated 3/2/15) with exactly the same statements that others on the forum have recently received. It does seem like there is no time limit and it can take as long as it takes!
==============

Updated timeline - Received approval after 8 months of application.
This forum has been very useful and thanks very much for sharing updates & timelines.

Just thought to make a FOI request and came across same kind of and interesting FOI request though old but interesting.

Home office replied with standard information and when asked for detailed and accurate information HO just ignored the request till date.

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ ... f_naturali

So what do u say If requested the same kind of a FOI info then would HO disclose the info or will still ignore it.

I've got a question. Sorry if that's a bit silly one :)

I have sent my application 3 weeks ago and I was wondering if I send the CRB check results to HO, would that be something acceptable for them and that might speed up the process? My employer recently did CRB check and I got an e-mail today that saying it's been completed. Does anyone have an idea?
I beleive it is an absolutely unnecessary. It would not make speed up at all!

Hello every one.
I am new on this forum and about to apply for naturalization, probably next couple of weeks. My question is, 3 points on driving licence for crossing red traffic light, since November 2011. Does if effect applicant?

What documents do I need to prove 5 years resident in UK, as I already submitted all documents for ILR, Do I need to submit same as ILR for 5 years?

Hi guys, I have got a question if anyone can help me.

I got my approval yesterday after 7 months, but my Mum, brother, and sister still haven't got theirs yet, we all applied together on the same day.
does anyone know if family applications are dealt by the same case worker? I am just a little worried for my family.

Thank you :)

Hi,

I need to apply for my wife's naturalization at NCS on 02/04/2015. I have just seen new form and requirement for bio-metrics and sending the BRP card? When this would come into effect? immediately or any future date? People saying from April 6th, 2015 but I cant really see any date on the policy guidelines.

The old form has been replaced by new one and I am not sure if I can use the old one on 2nd April. Only trying to beat the new fee so hurrying. Can anyone please let me know? Thanks

Hi aumar,
Do not confuse, the rules are simple, if you want to apply tomorrow, you need to use current form by downloading from home office website. If MAR 2015 is available it means you need to use this form, if they upload new form on 02/04/2015 when you will be applying, you need to use that form.

Fees with effect from 6th April 2014 is 906£.
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... r_2014.pdf

Fees with effect from 6th April 2015 is 1005£.
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... t_2015.pdf

You can use payment slips at the end of these PDFs, if you applying by post.

Dear Members, I am applying for my citizenship in the route of 3years Spouse of British citizen .
1. When I applied for ILR in Mar-14 as Tier-1 dependent, I took up BULATS test that was one of the approved exams for English language offered by Cambridge University. I understand that the rules are changing with the new AN form and BULATS is not in the list. Can any one please let me know if my BULATS certificates are still valid please or should o take up new tests to prove my English language? BULATS are valid for 2 years and I gave the online Certificated BULATS in Feb-14.
2. I have BRP and I have given fingerprints as part of Biometrics. Should i still enroll for fingerprints and do biometrics as per the new form?

As the new form sections are so confusing, can we create a new topic to discuss the questions please since I m fairly new to this forum, can the senior members help? Thanks and good luck everyone!
