Hi all,
I would to know if a non eea national are allowed to work when applying for EU1. The non eea national is married to a british citizen.

4 to 8 weeks after they receive your complete application they will send you a letter to get a temporary residence card with Stamp 4 (allowing you to work). From that time you will definitively be allowed to work.

Before you have the temporary card is a bit of a grey area and don't count on it too much (in theory you are allowed to work, but the legislation is not crystal clear and you won't have any document to show to prospective employers to prove you are allowed to work).
