New sticker rule for OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India)

Dear All,

Got a query on this process as its little confusing.

When i went to submit application, the lady on Counter said once OCI will be received form Delhi, i personally need to come and submit the passport for OCI sticker.

I can see that some of you send it through post in past (with pre paid envelope) so trying to understand whether its a new process as i live near Cambridge and don't want to take day off just to submit the passport?

Please respond if anyone sent the passpost via post to Goswellroad (VFS Office) to get the OCI sticker in around April 2015 or if anyone got the clue?

I'm in the same situation. Do you have any more information on this? I read somewhere (in USA) that OCI stickers are discarded i.e., nothing to add to the passport, only OCI card. I don't know whether this is same in UK.

The sticker rule is very much in place, you will have to personally go to drop your passport at VFS.

No appointment required to submit passport for visa sticker, you must take the payment receipt issued when submitting the application

There was also a mention of taking along the OCI application along with the passports and receipt .. Would this be the original application which was submitted to the VFS, why would they again need to see a copy of the application which is already with them?
Can someone please provide a list of all the things we need to furnish at the time of requesting for OCI card after the OCI is granted, so that we are ready with the list.

Hi I took the online OCI status report, the already paid envelope (handed back to me while submitting the application 3 months ago) and my british pp.

I too had taken the already submitted application form as advised in the VFS website alongwith the various oither originals required at that time. However none of those were required to be produced on that day. I think VFS is just trying to be cautious , who knows!

No appointment was needed however, I did need to show them the online status printout at reception and also it was taken at the counter too.

So it would be the printout of the OCI status enquiry page, payment receipts handed back by them, red covers for the pre-paid courier given by them and the British passports. That should be enough to explain the case to them.
SO now back to the waiting room
