Submitting OCI Application

Post by Easy Tiger » Sat Apr 18, 2015 11:37 am

Hi, I have recently this month submitted me and my sons OCI application which is currently under process. Now a family application is considered as family of four - husband , wife and two kids.

Now my mother wants to apply for OCI on the basis of my dads who holds Indian passport and I have filled out the application with all requested supported documents such as passport copies , marriage certificate , dads high school certificate self attested , 2 by 2 photos. Can I submit my mums individual application at my nearest Vfs visa Center or does my mum need to come with me.

Thanks

Your mum is applying for OCI on the basis that her husband (your father) is a Indian passport holder so she does not need you or your father present.
Just make sure she takes husband's original passport and copies (self attested), marriage certificate, birth certificate and any naturalisation / surrender certificate (if she had an indian passport) etc.

I went to submit my mums OCI application on Monday with the following

Application form
2inch by 2 photos
Mums British passport copy
Dads Indian passport copy
Marriage certificate

Now because my born was born in India which is stated in her British passport , the staff member at Vfs was asking for my mums passport which had been lost or misplaced which back in 1975 was taken by the British high commission and was supposed to passed onto the Indian high commission which is what they did in those days.

I have been to a local notary service where a solictor gave my mum a affivdave (excuse the spelling) for £60 which I took with e the OCI application and all documents to be submitted.
